Human Pressure Dynamics is founded upon the WholeWell Awareness philosophy that human performance, health and wellbeing emerge from the continual interaction of many interconnected factors rather than any single cause.
Pressure is rarely created by one demand in isolation. Work, home life, relationships, health, finances, environment and individual characteristics continually interact, influencing capacity, recovery, resilience and ultimately human performance.
This multi agential, multi disciplinary approach to stress and pressure works hand in hand with the framework's more traditional focus on education and understanding, forming the basis of our PADDS implementation strategy.
Human Pressure Dynamics is guided by six core principles.
No aspect of human performance exists in isolation. Multiple physical, psychological, emotional, social and environmental factors continually interact, often amplifying or reducing one another. Understanding these interactions provides a more complete picture than viewing individual pressures independently.
Performance, capacity and wellbeing continually fluctuate as demands interact with recovery, resilience and available resources.
Pressure is an inevitable part of work and life. The objective is not to eliminate pressure but to understand, regulate and respond to it effectively.
Deterioration is usually progressive. Recognising earlier changes creates greater opportunity for adaptation before higher-level stress becomes established.
Consistent language enables clearer conversations, better decisions and more effective organisational support.
Long-term performance depends not simply upon effort, but upon understanding and regulating the continual interaction between load, capacity, resilience and recovery.
